Board Nominations Due February 1st

Open board positions for the 2020/2021 school year:
• President (2-year term) – Preside at meetings of the Meiklejohn Elementary PTA. Oversee committees and activities of the PTA, except the nominating committee and the financial review/audit committee. Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the PTA in order that the purposes may be promoted.
• Vice President 1 (2-year term) – Oversees and assists the school activity teams for the PTA. This includes the Reflections Committee, Mileage Club, Enrichment, Talent Show, and the Science Fair teams.
• Secretary (2-year term) – Record the minutes of meetings of the Meiklejohn Elementary PTA.  Attend PTA general membership meetings (bi-monthly) and board meetings (monthly), and maintain all records in accordance with document retention requirements.
• Treasurer (1 year remaining in existing 2-year term) – Maintain accurate and detailed financial records for the PTA, including preparation of the PTA budget and receiving/disbursing funds. Attend PTA general membership meetings (bi-monthly) and board meetings (monthly), and present a Treasurer’s report at each meeting. Prepare an IRS tax return 990, as well as the books for the annual audit.
• Ways & Means Chair – Oversees and assists the Fundraising Chairs. This includes Box Tops, Restaurant Nights, Milk Caps, Carnival, and Fun Run / Auction. Attend PTA general membership meetings (bi-monthly) and board meetings (monthly).
Nominations are due by February 1st and will be formally announced February 7th. Voting will take place during the election at the March general PTA meeting. Official 2-year terms begin July 1, 2020.
