Crossing Guards: We are in need of crossing guards to assist our families and children getting to and from school safely. With the addition of preschool classrooms and decreased bus routes, there is even more traffic around the school. Dates and hours vary to accommodate different schedules. CLICK HERE to sign up, go to and scroll toward the bottom of the page. Once you’ve signed up, a member of the PTA will reach out to discuss days/times that work for you. This position is open to family members, friends and even neighbors!
Room Parents: We are looking for two lead room parents and several helpers for each classroom this year to help plan classroom parties and support our teachers with other classroom needs. With all of the things expected from our teachers, they really appreciate the extra help! The “lead” room parents will communicate with the teacher and coordinate the efforts with the other room parents. If you want to support multiple teachers, please sign up separately for each classroom. Please sign up HERE by September 1st
Mileage Club: Mileage Club is back! This is a fun, energetic program offered to ALL kids in grades K-5 during lunch recess. Mileage Club will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, weather dependent, September 7th through November 9th from 11:25 AM – 1:15 PM. Parent volunteers are needed to punch cards as the kids complete their laps and hand out charms once the cards are full. We meet at the pavilion at Beeman Park and need 6 to 8 volunteers at a minimum or the day will be canceled. Sign up for a full shift or come just for an hour – please indicate in the comment section
Other Volunteer Needs: Whether you prefer to volunteer during school hours or help with items at home in your spare time, there are lots of flexible positions available. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families while supporting our amazing Meiklejohn community. We still have lots of openings to help out with staff appreciation, fundraising, community events and student programs. Here is the link to sign up.
